Jan De Kinder

Jan De Kinder writes and illustrates, and sometimes performs on stage. He studied applied graphic arts at Sint Lucas in Brussels. In 2002, Jan made his debut with the picture book 'Mathilde'. Since then, he has illustrated and written more than 10 books, which have been translated into 20 languages.

In his drawings and stories, Jan seeks to convey direct narrative power, humor, atmosphere, and emotion. His favorite color is red, in all its possible shades.

In addition to drawing and writing, Jan has a passion for unicycling, circus arts, theater, street theater, improvisation, clowning, and storytelling.
