Flore Deman

Flore Deman is a Belgian award-winning illustrator recognised for her socially engaged practice and poetically layered visual language. Working across editorial illustration, children's books, cultural commissions, and personal projects, she creates imagery that combines clarity of form with emotional depth and narrative subtlety. Her work often reflects on human rights, mental health, social inequality, climate concerns, sexism, and racism. Through metaphor, shifts in scale, and touches of surrealism inspired by the Belgian artistic tradition, she develops images that remain accessible while inviting closer reflection. Storytelling plays a central role in her practice, allowing complex social realities to unfold through sensitive visual narratives.

Combining analogue drawing and painting with refined digital techniques, Deman produces artwork suited to both intimate editorial contexts and large-scale public spaces. Her illustrations aim to create connection, offering images that feel emotionally direct while gently encouraging dialogue and shared understanding.
